Use standards bodies’ current specifications for technical claims. A vendor’s product documentation can explain its implementation, but it does not replace legislation or an authoritative standard.
Delegated and implementing acts
Many passport details depend on delegated and implementing acts adopted after the Regulation itself. Check the EUR-Lex procedure file for Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 and the Commission register of delegated and implementing acts for the current status of each act. A date that depends on an act that has not entered into force is an expected date, not a fixed one, and planning documents should label it as such until the act is adopted.
How to verify a claim in a guide
Find the article or annex named in the guide, open the current consolidated text on EUR-Lex, and read the provision with the battery category and placing date in front of you. Note the consolidation date shown by EUR-Lex, and check for corrigenda and later amendments. If a guide cites a commercial implementation resource, treat it as an explanation of one implementation, not as law, and check the point in the primary text before relying on it.
