Our purpose
BatteryPassport.digital is an independent educational publication about battery passports, product information, and implementation concepts. It is designed to help readers understand the subject and ask better questions.
What you can find here
Guides explain key concepts, topic hubs connect related reading, and the educational checker helps organize information-management questions. As of 28 October 2026, the publication holds guides across 22 topic hubs, organised by battery category, operator role, lifecycle stage, evidence type and obligation. New guides are added as complete topic sets, not as single pages, so each hub can be read as a whole.
Independence
This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the European Commission or other EU institutions. It does not issue passports, certify products, or provide legal or compliance consultancy services.
People and credentials
No expert review, professional qualification, or institutional endorsement is implied. Named authors and reviewers will be identified when verified details are available.
Read the editorial policy to understand how information is presented.
How guides are built
Each guide starts with a direct answer, then defines the term it uses, states its scope, and works through the questions a reader needs to answer for a specific battery, role or life stage. Regulatory statements are checked against the primary legislation and dated: where a date depends on a delegated or implementing act that has not yet entered into force, the guide labels the date as expected rather than fixed. Worked records and examples are illustrative in form only, and are labelled as such.
Corrections and limits
Corrections are handled under the editorial policy, and no editorial contact channel has been opened yet; the contact page states the position honestly until one is available. The publication does not issue passports, certify products, or provide legal or compliance advice for a particular battery or business. Readers making a decision for a specific battery should check the current primary materials and consult a suitably qualified adviser.
